A New Addition to the Gozales and GB San Clemente Families

The Gonzales have made Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) one of the most important activities of their lives. Driven by the passion of the father, Richard Gonzales, for fighting and martial arts, the whole family gets together several times a week to practice and study BJJ. This family is actually a key element of the Gracie Barra San Clemente path, as Richard and his two daughters, Alyssa and Ariana, have been with us since before we opened our doors. This already big family has recently had a new baby, Gabriel, who will for sure be training with us to become a champion in a few years. Congratulations Richard and Tina, you guys have a beautiful family and inspire us all!!!img_9781_jpg.jpgimg_9778_jpg.jpgimg_9732_jpg.jpgcimg0245.jpgcimg0248.jpg

Great Training at GB San Clemente

With the fast growth of our school, the classes are getting bigger and the quality and variety of training partners is only getting better and better. Gracie Barra has always been famous by the quality of training on its mats: a unique blend of a progress oriented intense training on a very friendly environment. We are very happy and proud to replicate that at the mats of Gracie Barra San Celemente. Master Carlos Gracie Jr will be very proud of us guys!

Thanks for everyones support on bringing their friends and family and referring the school to so many people.

Cheers!

Gracie Barra takes second place at the Pan Ams

Gracie Barra was very well represented at the Panams. It was amazing to see so many people from our family on the same place. Everyone were impressed with the spectacular number of people wearing GB t shirts on the bleachers and athletes with GB gis competing.

Gracie Barra was not just well represented in number of people. Our school took second place on the general; rank and only miss the first place for a few points. If Roberto Tuca Alencar had won that final Match against Rafael Lovato on the Black Belt heavy weight, the podium would be ours again. But that is fine. We will come back at the Worlds.

Monday after the competition Gracie Barra Professors and Instructors from all over the US got together at our HQ for a MMA Seminar and to celebrate the great weekend out Team had at the Pan Ams. Here is a group picture from the Gracie Barra Black Belts who attended the meeting, you can see our Pan Ams Trophy at the picture. Soon we will post some cool pictures from our students in action at the competition.

Gracie Barra: Keeping the Legacy Alive!

BIG Mat Receives his Diploma from the IBJJF Titles

Our dear student Matthew “Big Mat” Doty received his diplomas for the titles of the Worlds No Gi and American Nationals Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Championships. Big Mat has been training for one year and working with Professor Flavio and his teammate Val Rooman to get ready for his tournaments every Mondays and Wednesdays at 7am for the last 6 months. All that early morning sacrifice was worth it and these two very dedicated students are heading to one more challenge: the Panams this weekend. Good luck guys!

Jiu-Jitsu for Parents and Kids

Last Saturday (March, 22nd) Gracie Barra San Clemente had its first Parents and Kids Class. The training session started at 9am and lasted until 10 am and brought together many of the GBSC students and their families. After the class we all enjoyed a great healthy breakfast with fruits, juices and whole foods. It was interesting to see kids introducing their parents to their first jiu-jitsu steps and parents teaching their kids basic BJJ tecniques and self defense.

“There is no other class that expresses better the intention and spirit of a Gracie Barra School. At the same time our mats build some of the best fighters in the world, we nurture and enjoy a family environment where all our students feel proud of bringing their spouses and kids” Prof. Flavio Almeida

We would like to thank the parents for bringing their kids and our kids for bringing their parents. We can’t wait for the next one!!!!

Enjoy the pictures!
