Gracie Barra San Clemente

Hi All,

Gracie Barra San Clemente and Gracie Barra Dana Point Event calendar is updated. We have lots going on in January and look forward for a great start in 2010:

- All Levels Kids Class at Gracie Barra Dana Point Saturday, Jan 16th. From 9am to 10am. All GBSC Kids are very welcome to join us.

- Buddy Week starts at Jan 17th!!! Share the BJJ Experience!

- GB Surf Day: January 24th, Sunday, we will be getting together at T-street in San Clemente for a surf session with all our GB surfer friends. We will meet there at 9am. This event is conditioned to safe and fair surfing conditions.

- Kids Competition Classes: Professor Flavio will be coming to teach and train with our little champions during the upcoming competition classes that will take place at Gracie Barra San Clemente on Jan 27th and 28th.

- Parents & Kids Class: the most fun class of our school is back. Kids will be teaching BJJ to their dads and moms on Saturday, January 30th from 9am to 10am at Gracie Barra San Clemente. We will have a Potluck breakfast afterwards so please bring your favorite healthy breakfast snack and lets have fun!!!

- Adult Competition Class: Sunday from 11am to 1pm we will be getting together at GB Dana Point. Professor Flavio will run an entire training session on building an effective closed guard for competition. All our students 14 years old and white belt 3 stripes and up are welcome to join us.

we are back to our regular schedule of classes this sat. Gracie Barra San Clemente and Gracie Barra Dana Point we have all its classes this weekend.

Lots of BJJ training in January!

Hi All,

Training continues during the Holiday season. We know many of us will be out of town but for those who are staying, let’s get together do what we love to do, spend time with the family and train Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ). Gracie Barra San Clemente will be closed on the last week of December but Gracie Barra Dana Point will be opened with plenty of classes.

Gracie Barra San Clemente’s 1st Annual Soccer Cup

Gracie Barra San Clemente celebrated its end of the year event with its 1st Annual Soccer Cup Challenge. About 75 students showed up to a local park in San Clemente to play some family-friendly GB competitive soccer and to celebrate another year “rolling on the mats” with GBSC.

The day began with the Little Champs I and II taking the field and chasing the soccer ball around. Each team had its own coach, GBSC Instructors, Charles Gomes and Kanai Brown, who played goalie and didn’t let either side score!

The kids enjoyed their game and by the end of the day, most congregated in the center of the field talking and laughing and having a great time together.

As the adults started to play their game, the verbal “sparring” between sides began. GBSC Coach Felipe Guedes yelled out that the “real talent hadn’t touched the ball yet,” while other players pushed each other into the mud.

However, the stars of the soccer game were GBSC’s own married couple, Matt and Michelle Blesdoe. Michelle scored two goals for her team, while Matt controlled the ball for his team much of the time.

Professor Flavio had so much fun, he told everyone, “I think we should do this every other month – not once a year! Today was way too much fun!”

Hi all,

We have finished the draft of our winter class schedule for Gracie Barra San Clemente. Most classes would remain the same.

The women program would have classes at night (Mon and Wed at 6pm) instead of mornings. To accommodate that change our kids class Mon and Wed would start 10 Min earlier. All that so the moms can train right after their kids!!!

Our schedule is improved every season to better fit the needs of the majority of our students.

HO HO HO!! GBSC Christmas party at Coach/Doctor Steve and Cathy Cullen’s house in Talega this Sunday the 20th at 5:00 p.m.! Get more information at GBSC – it’s posted on the board in the lobby! They need a head count for food, so please sign up ASAP! It’s gonna be so much fun, so don’t miss it! Santa Claus is going to be there, too…maybe in a big red GB gi?

Coach Felipe is Going to Brazil!

Coach Felipe will be going home to Brazil to visit his family.  He will be back in January.  We will all miss him and hope he has a wonderful time with his family after so many years.
