This upcoming Friday, the GBSC will be hosting a sample class performing a self-defense demo at Vista Del Mar Elementary School Carnival. It will be so much fun as many of our kids, their parents and all our instructors will be there to share their passion for the gentle art.

We would like to invite all our students to bring their gis join us to this incredible event.

Today is Earth Day !!

Today is a day we celebrate our Planet Earth and take the time out to think about ways that we can care for our environment and conserve our natural resources.

“I am not an environmentalist. I’m an Earth Warrior.”- Darrly Cherney quoted in Smithsonian, April 1990.

Here are some of the ways GBSC does our part…

Did you know here at Gracie Barra San Clemente we only print on 100% recycled paper.

We also recycle and donate our water bottles and cans to our local school recycling programs.

Some students also switched from using water bottles to using cantins.

Send us an e-mail on how you are doing your part to save our planet earth.

On Saturday we celebrated Earth Day here at GBSC.

Each Kid received a fresh tomato plant…learn to grow your own vegetables and enjoy the fruits later.

This is an amazing video for our students to watch at the Earth Day week. It is form 1992 when the United Nations hosted a Environmental Summit in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. This little girl steped it in front of governement representatives from all over the world and made this amazing speech!

17 years have passed and not much has happened to change the course of Environmental Degradation, but this speech remains as one of the most remarkable moments of the summit!

This class is open to all three stripe white belts and up who are registered for our Competition Team.  If you would like to be apart of our Competition Team click here to register.

In Celebration of Earth Day ….

Professor Flavio is hosting a Special Green Class Saturday 4/18.

The event will be held at the Advanced Kids Class this Saturday from 9:00-10:00am.

All Kids/ Jrs/ Teens are welcome!!

Join us after class for fun and festivities at the San Clemente  Pier hosted by the City of San Clemente and the Water Shed Task force 10:00am-2:00pm.

Teaching the kids about the future of tomorrow….

Did you know…

Q:    How much water do you think you use each day?

A:    Believe it or not, the average person uses 100 gallons a Day !!

Q:   Did you know you can help complete the cycle?

A:   When you need to buy new paper, look for the kind that is made from recycled material and you will help save trees !! You can also save trees by using fewer paper plates and cups or other paper products.

Q:  Did you know that by sorting your trash you can turn these things intro something new?

A:  Old plastic can turn into a new fence at the playground, or maybe your old math notebook could turn into a greeting card. Recycling is a great way to make the most of our resources. Recycling also reduces the amount of trash we create.

Kids learning is the first step towards protecting our environment.

Earth Day is a holiday on April 22. It is a day to think about ways we can care for our environment and conserve our natural resources.
