Thanks

It would be impossible to put down in words what I felt watching this video. Gracie Barra San Clemente is a dream that became true by the hands of so many people. I was lucky to find so many great people along this amazing and exciting journey and that is what made it possible. I am always pleased to see how kind and supportive each and everyone of our students are, how much they enjoy BJJ, and how they feed the school’s friendly atmosphere. I am always and will be forever thankful for having people like Felipe, Angy, Dave, and Pesh helping me bring the school to the highest standard set by us. We are always striving to make our school a reference inside the Gracie Barra Family and make Master Carlos Gracie Jr proud.

To receive a homage like that, when I consider myself to be on the early days of my career as a BJJ instructor, definitely got me stoked and out of words, and out of breath. You all know how much I love what I do. We are just starting our journey together and there is much more to come. Thank you all for being part of this young and amazing team!!!

Let’s stay “Organized like a team, fighting like a Family”

Warmest regards,

Professor Flavio Almleida

Homage Prof. Flavio Almeida

Last Sunday Professor Flavio Almeida had a very special surprise from his students. After the Fundamentals Class he was called on the office by his right arm Felip Guedes to watch a video. He did not know it was a homage from all the students and the video comprised some of the best moments of his life as an instructor, competitor, and friend. He was stoked and emotional as most of you will be after watching it.

GB Future Champions did an outstanding job

GB Future Champions did an outstanding  job

To see the high skill level, hard work and discipline presented by our kids made everyone at GB very proud.
They really gave it their all and we thoroughly enjoyed so much the evening.

Congratulations for the GB Professors, Instructors, Assistant Instructors and Volunteers for the outstanding job they are doing with the GB Kids Programs throughout California. The kids showcased beautiful take downs, guard passes, sweeps, chokes, armbars and so on … there could not have been a better representation of good Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu for the expectators.

Big thanks to all the Professors, Instructors and students who helped us seting up the event, without your help we could not do it. We would like to specially thank Professor Mike Buckels from Gracie Barra Costa Mesa for the awesome job he did leading the organization.

Everybody walked out with big smiles on their faces, and most wanting to come back and see it again . A final note to the kids: Well Done, keep training hard and Thank You!

Here are some cool pics for you guys to enjoy:

Advanced Classes at GBSC

We can’t wait to have the “White Army” from the Fundamentals program to get to their 3rd stripe and join us on the advanced classes. Meanwhile, we are training a lot and learning many of the more advanced moves. This week we are studying advanced hip throws and different ways to escape from the turtle position.

Women Class this Saturday 10am

Don’t miss the first of our Brazilain Jiu-Jitsu Women Class. It will be lots of fun! Bring the wife, the daughter, the girlfriend, or any woman you would like to share the experience you have with BJJ. Keep in mind that Jiu-Jitsu is one of the best approaches to self defense because relies on technique and leverages and not on strength what makes it perfect for girls. It is also a great way to loose weight and embrace a healthier lifestyle.

See you on the Mats!

GB San Clemente Team

GB San Clemente Team at the Beach!

Last weekend students from Gracie Barra  went to the San Clemente beach to have fun. Any reason is a good reason to get together and this time it was not to train Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu but for volleyball.
