Gracie Barra San Clemente

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is one of the most integrating and enjoyable sports that a couple can practice do together. The martial art spirit and the family environment of a typical Gracie Barra School, summed with the extraordinary workout provided by each training session, has allowed husbands and wives, boyfriends and girlfriends to enjoy together a fun, challenging and exciting activity that brings many benefits to their lives. It is common to walk into our schools and see these couples training together and enjoying the BJJ lifestyle.

For this reason, at the month of the valentine’s day, Gracie Barra San Clemente and other GB schools of Orange County will have a special offer: the GB Valetine’s Special. The idea is to stimulate our current students to bring their lovers and new students to become part of Gracie Barra together with their mates.

Here is a summary of the benefits students will get during all the month of February: If you are already a student, your mate will train for free for the entire month. Also, he or she will get a great deal on the first month and will benefit from the family discount.

If your wife or girlfriend is skeptical about BJJ, remember that we will start our Women Program. This class will be restricted to female students and will allow the students to learn the most important self defense techniques of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.

After a lot of efforts from the GB San Clemente Team and friend our school is ready! The construction took longer then we expected but we had lots of fun! Classes start this Tuesday at 5.30pm with a Fundamentals followed by an Advanced Class at 6.30pm. It is amazing the the interest and feedback we have received from the communities of San Clemente, Dana Point, San Juan Capistrano and others. A lot of people are contacting us and most of them will come to check the school this week.

Enjoy the pictures from our construction journey. Last Saturday we left the school at 4 o’clock in the morning.

Gracie Barra Instructors in the region are getting together every Friday morning to align the curriculum and other procedures we apply inside the GB Schools.

Last Friday we had 13 Black Belts on the mats.

Today (Friday, February 1st 2008) it has been 2 years since we lost one of the most important figures of our sport at all times: Grand Master Carlson Gracie, the son of Great Grand Master Carlos Gracie Sr and brother of Master Carlos Gracie Jr.

Grand Master Carlson Gracie is considered a key link that kept the Gracie Family Legacy alive through many MMA battles on the 50s and 60s. After retiring from his fighting career he became an outstanding professor and built many great students and athletes.

On behalf of the Gracie Barra Family we would like to express here our gratitude, admiration and respect for Carlson’s contributions to Gracie Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
